Merlot - Marques de Casa Concha - 2009 - 14,5%
Dark and deep red. Rich and deftly balanced yet muscular red, with layers of complex currant, spice, wild berry and plum. Show off a nice touch of vanilla oak and mocha, adding a nice dimension. Though tannic now, this wine should evolve. There’s already some complexity beginning to develop out of its firm, quiet, supple core.
"Thick and dark at every check point, starting with the wine's minty, herbal, black fruit aromas and descending through a rich, meaty palate toward toasty blackberry and black plum flavors. Spicy, woody and herbal on the finish. A modern, polished, oaky Merlot."
Wine Enthusiast
"Lurid violet. Sexy dark berries and cherry-cola on the nose, along with hints of anise and woodsmoke coming up with air. Deep, chewy and weighty but surprisingly fresh, offering spicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of dark chocolate. Coats the palate nicely and finishes with lingering spiciness, good clarity and tangy cut."
